Juneteenth Celebration Bellingham
Time & Location
About the Event
Come together as an inclusive community to celebrate National Freedom Day: Juneteenth 2018 Bellingham! An American Holiday paying tribute to 153 years of independence. This begins the newest Bellingham Tradition. Let us bridge our Saturday Block-Party at Maritime Heritage Park on June 16th to commemorate the astounding accomplishments of African-Americans, and their accomplices, that etched true civil liberty into history. Ceremonialize with us the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation on June 19, 1865, announced via harbor of Galveston, Texas!
Bring your food and blanket for this community picnic! Gather around music, speakers, step dance, a food vendor TBD, to come and party with us from Black Lives Matter Bellingham to patriotically celebrate our intertwined liberation.
We extend an invitation to any community organization with the Black in Bellingham community in mind. Bring your table, sandbags, canopy, and resources to display at the park. This is an effort to build an inclusively combined community that leaves no culture left behind or unspoken for.
Teejay Morris and Jazzmyn Hannah from Black Lives Matter Bellingham will be the MC's for this event!
